Hi Bobby,

South still has a chance even if East riffs the 4th spade low. South overrides then leads the HJ. Of course West shouldn’t ruin his partner’s good work but some West’s will cover with ruinous effects on West’s blood pressure!

Hi Iain,

Yes, and if West did what you indicated (after the play went the way it might have, after the spade lead) it likely would have first been East’s blood pressure rising to the sky with West envisioning death by torture or worse, forever losing a worthwhile bridge partner.

We all, especially me, should save our rants for when they really count, such as when opponent’s outplaying or outwitting your partnership. How dare they feel good, just because my side gave them a gift, the antithesis of what they deserve.

However, the trauma created by the non-posting of it, lives on. Contrasting, thanks for the interlude, not to mention the possible rancor and its subtlies.
