Good morning Bobby
For a Pair playing Lebensohl over 1NT > interference, and standard 1NT overcalls (i.e. 15-18), an auction proceeds as follows:
(1H) 1NT (2H) 2NT…
Is Lebensohl “on” exactly as if in 1NT (2H) 2NT, or should there be anything different about this specific context?
Thanks

Hi Clarksburg,

And a tip of my cap for a sunny and pleasant Sunday.

However, at least I think it best, and it not being close, for partnerships to not go roaming into uncharted waters and unilaterally (even sometimes with both being guilty) dreaming that whatever the worth, at least this time, of wanting it to mean what you hope, but, in reality, the opposite is more likely true.

Yes, there is reason for three distinct meanings for the 2NT bid (natural, Lebensohl, “partner bid 3 clubs”or even possessing 5-5 or 4-5 with often a singleton, and while holding both minor suits. There could be a case for any of those three and if you are going to tell me that it will be discussed beforehand, it probably will be, somewhere between 2021 and 3021 and how about the possibility that even if both partner’s were identically in tune, how could either be confident enough to cause the reasonable assurance to bid this complete hand to its finish.

IOW do not try this at home or at any place bridge is being played..

As to which way to play it, easy but not necessarily the right way, but just natural, since in a pinch by doing so, that player will have the best excuse for not garnering the zero, nothing to sneeze at, when critiquing your game results.
