Looks like similar result if N plays H7 trick one. NS have the tricks, but attacking spades disrupts communication. Another good “theme” week. I wouldn’t have seen it as E, except after this week’s hands. Lots of nuances to learn in this game, ever challenging but always fun.
Thanks to you Bobby, and all of the regular participants, for making each day a little bit better.
Hi Joe1,
Playing better bridge seems to attract potential stars with its contributions to diversity of solutions, arithmetical mind sets, and those with enough patience to not expect a whole lot immediately.
Add that to worthwhile discussions, example hands illustrating do’s and dont’s, as well as perhaps its most important quality, strict discipline (mostly in the bidding). And finally the opportunity to play with and against equals or, even better, more experienced players.
Thanks for your compliments to which I will share with my sensational team, certainly including my loyal posters, without which, nothing much, especially like your description, would be possible, and likely not, a daily occurrence.
Finally, even today has been broadly brightened by your kindness.
Hi Joe1, Bobby,
If West leads the H10 and South plays small from table, East ducks too. If South take the HQ he may struggle to unravel with East having 2 possible club entries. If he ducks the HQ though bang goes the second H trick unless he can endplay East. HA at T1 may look odd but is clearly best.
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain & Joe1,
Iain, thanks for your guiding light, (and very common when explaining our versatile game) to be patient about different vibes for different jibes, especially when considering not to take a winnable trick.
Helps insure that bridge, at least to me, is easily the greatest mind game ever, although pure IQ will not get it done, but imaginative experience, might.
