Another instructive deal illustrating the advantage of elopement but perhaps a careless south should not discard a spade from dummy on Q of clubs.( Interestingly, even if he ruffs that card , no problem but spade discard would spell doom)

You, of course, continue to speak the truth.
Methinks that one of the few (if any) advantages of old age is that the older one gets, the fewer careless mistakes good players make, possibly because it hurts so much when one does so, but when one is younger they do not realize how bad they will feel when they do.
Once (or perhaps twice) done is about a lifetime limit for being careless, although perhaps playing bridge is fraught with many opportunities and in myriad different ways.
