I’d bid 3N too on BWTA although I’d be happier with SKxx Six or even Q10x. I just have this vision of partner holding something like J Kx AQJx AJxxxx or similar with the opening leader having K10xxx in spades. As for poor Jim2, let’s not go there.

Hi Iain,
No doubt before one jumps to 3NT he will be aware of partner preferring a slower auction, but our game is such where doing the right thing at the right time spells winning. No one,
except perhaps flagrant cheaters, manage to break records for hardly ever doing the wrong thing, but in spite of that, we can (should) soldier on with at least attempting to both show
partner the type hand we hold, and, at the same time, hope for the best while still understanding that fate sometimes decides against our choice, but even then we, if we get lucky, can often still make delicious apple sauce out of just apples.
