Hi Bobby,
What if East has DQx though? Now doesn’t he need to have SKQ(x) or similar? If declarer after 2 rounds of Diamonds dropping East’s Q leads a small trump of table and East plays small smoothly is there even a case for hoping West has a singleton S honour? A good E will duck with KQx of course but a weaker one will wriggle or split their honours.
Regards
Iain
Hi Iain,
I do think you are on a decent track with your line of play, but the singleton spade honor with West is a very low percentage perhaps 40% of 26 =10.4% and if miss figuring, very likely even less, not more.
However, methinks the column line also wasn’t a positive figure, so it amounts to nothing good, but choosing the less bad. However, thanks always for your efforts and view.
