Hi Bobby,

I know you don’t like MUD leads but they would have helped the defence today as West would have started with H7 then H8 which might be from K87. It does seem long odds against West picking such a lead, though although perhaps a hand like xx Kxx Kxx KQxxx would be an example where it is a choice of unattractive options. Even so, a trump would surely appeal more.

Regards,

Iain

Hi Dear Mr Wolff
Perhaps club ten happens to be the most vital card in this deal. If east happens to possess it, there is no way declarer can make the contract

Hi Iain & AVRR,

I do like MUD leads, but only when the catchy advantage of now pretending to have a doubleton or instead an honor, results in a good score for our side.

Otherwise, it could still turn out to be deceptive but the one confused may be wearing the same color uniform as the opening leader.

And yes AVRR, a ten is often a key deciding factor, if for no other reason than allowing
a defense to win the day, or, in any event, forcing those ugly opponents to have to guess who was dealt it.
