Hi Bobby,

Yesterday’s hand seemed simple but the advice on signalling and deceptive declarer play was invaluable. On today’s though, is it worth considering other signalling / discard options. East could ditch the D9 on the 3rd club for example as a revolving discard while what should a club echo mean in a situation where the CQ has been played so showing length is irrelevant.

Regards,

Iain

PS Welcome back!

Hi Iain,

Monday seems to be the only day that “TABLE UP” is not the battle cry.

Seemingly the more instructive bridge lessons learned magically are usually tied
to classic situations of the defense first coming together with solving the winning of the down trick and what sources to rely on, if indeed it does exist, to secure it. And today’s hand becomes a classic example.
