I’ve got to say this is a fairly easy defensive problem. The SA screams to be played at T2 then a diamond. Not sure what West was doing here. Sensible lead then madness.

Of course, agreeing with you and wondering how and why West went off rails. Possibly
he felt overmatched and just wanted to get that round over with. Therefore, a good
working lesson is to learn to pause after trick one and until one can actually do constructive thinking, try not to commit till one’s playing time felt time to play.
IOW, try and use one’s playing time in the most constructive manner.
