Hi Bobby,
Any case for East bidding 4D over 3D here. Then he might get a diamond ruff at T1. This does have the benefit of 20-20 hindsight to be fair; I’d just have bid my suits at the table.
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain,
While your analysis is usually impeccable, your early question guantees a definite answer, a screaming yes, if only because of the result, however not leading the ace, but rather a low one, is very suspicious. However, in practice and not being criminally wired, it is just too double dummy and unrealistic, and besides the NS bidding has already suggested a diamond lead for the defense, but always the ace!!!!. However, first leading a low diamond instead of the ace suggests something much more sinister, although perhaps not able to be proven, but in reality, as highly suspect as one can get, methinks calling for a thorough private investigation of that pair, unless, and of course, if they are relatively new and, at least for public view, very inexperienced and prone to not being a major threat to the game, at least it says here?????
