Hi Bobby,

Relief writ large at the restoration of my daily fix!

Ironically a spade at T1 messes up declarer’s entries while East should clearly duck the first spade if holding the SK. Mind you a heart at T1 from West really messes things up but who could find that?

Regards,

Iain

On BWTA, if only South could have also shown spades with his opening bid so that North could double for that lead with strength in that suit.

Hi Iain,

Cheaters could easily first disguise the ruse by East suggesting to his partner his juuuu obvious heart preference and then the fun begins with declarer still able to score up the contract with 4 diamond tricks, 3 spades, and, of course, 2 round suit tricks, therein denying those good-for-nothing opponents a well earned result.

There is a bridge god out there, patrolling the territory, but, to my knowledge, not always doing his job.

Hi Jim2,

Yes, sometimes bridge writers sometimes mourn the loss of being able to simply
explain an often occurring bridge gambit, but your satirical effort defies description
and better to allow Lena (of Lower Slobbovian heritage) her beauty, to take other’s breath away. Perhaps, for emphasis, her home site should be spelled with a triple b!

I tried the email address for Bobby, but email wasn’t deliverable. Also tried the link Bobby’s home page, but it didn’t work either. So, how do I ask a question? I’m filling out below w/ my email address. Emmett M.
