Hi Bobby,
Modern consumerism is keen on plugging choice as a good thing. Poor declarer today though; he had too many.
LWTA confirms a standard view that trump leads make sense when LHO has a two suiter, whether Michaels, UNT, Ghestem or something else.
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain,
Yes, there are fairly common sense rules which should be always followed, except when they do not work.
Opening leads belong especially with the candor of those who believe in standard views, but not necessarily to boast, since they often disappoint.
But to clearly prove that, I believe,
Barnum vintage, the one with Bailey, espoused:
“There is a sucker born every minute” to anyone who rigidly follows any wholly specific rules when he or she is on lead and, of course
at least attempting to do the right thing.
Thanks Bobby,
Always avoid “always” and never use “never” on the subject of opening leads perhaps?
Regards,
Iain
