Hi Bobby,

In a teams match West could (should?) do even better by leading his small diamond instead of the 10 when he is in with the SA. The infamous Grosvenor coup of course but gold plate it by “apologising” to partner and saying the wrong card fell out. All tongue in cheek of course as I think this could be pushing the bounds of best behaviour at bridge.

Regards

Iain

Hi Iain,

Perhaps an excuse for the seven of diamonds play, instead of the obvious 10 (yes suit preference as would be the 9 for clubs), but only demanding partner to trump it, supersedes anything as delicate as strict allegiance to lesser gods, a fancy way to goad partner to at least show at least a bare knowledge of bridge sense, something some otherwise VERY INTELLIGENT would be players are void (a bridge term designed to remind all players, that at least some % of bridge knowledge is closely aligned to not stand on the railroad track when a fast moving train is coming directly at you).

Believe it or not, I once was a close friend of a person who took an instrumental
part in developing the so-called Manhatten Project, (Atomic Bomb) but often struck out when playing bridge

Hi Bobby,

At least he only made mistakes at the bridge table, not in the lab!

Hi Iain,

Not in the right order.

Errors are only errors, but allowing a non-makeable game to score,, is worse than a thousand deaths, since losing life is at least advertised as something most people will experience, but allowing those awful opponents to be happy cannot ever be allowed. Tell him to get more cruel, but please stay in the lab and never come out, especially to the cry of “TABLE UP”!
