HI Bobby,
Nicely done by South catching West on Autopilot here. On BWTA, assuming 5 card majors of course and 2 over 1, I’d be tempted by 2D although I can see the point of 2S too. If I bid 2D and partner gets carried away with (say) a strong 1-3-4-5 hand then maybe 6D might even be playable and I’ve managed to hog the hand too.
Regards,
Iain
I confess to liking 2D, as well, to the point of bidding it myself. At least it shows where my values are.
My main fear is that I might have to support clubs at some point and having pard then pinpoint my “singleton” heart with unfortunate consequences. If that happened, maybe I would sneak a heart into my diamonds and “discover” it to my dismay as I put down the dummy.
Hi Folks, Does 3C gurantee 4C? If 2C shows 5c…3C can be 3..and 5233?
HI Patrick,
I don’t think that playing 2/1 that 2C has to be 5 but am happy to be corrected if that isn’t the case. Certainly playing 4 card majors you might have to improvise with 3433 and a decent hand over 1S.
Regards,
Iain
