If West held DKJ9xx or similsr I’ have more sympathy but I used to joke “win the post mortem”. If you lead a spade when a D is better you can blame partner. Lead a D when a spade works, it is your fault. What is the definition of the Polish club though? It might make a difference.

Hi Bobby, If Polish 1C could b short and if one does not fancy a spade cos of South’s confident 3N bid and no x to show 4H..is there a case for a heart lead trying to find pard’s strength?
