On reverse’s query, if you’re not playing support doubles then 1C (P) 1H (2D) can be used to show a weaker hand with 4S and 2S can then show a reversing strength hand with the same. I’d be a bit iffy about bidding 2S on (say) a 4-1-2-6 hand and a 12 or 13 count but, without the agreement above, pass is always an option albeit a dull one. I’m not sure I’d be happy making partner give preference to 3C if I had 5-4 in the black suits and a minimum hand while he / she had a minimum reply but you can’t land on a pin in part scores I suppose.
