Hi Dear Mr Wolff
But perhaps, with a side four card major and only six diamonds, north could have bid stayman and final contract could have been two hearts. In case south denies hearts, north can introduce diamonds but once south bids hearts north can pass with his five points. It would be tempting to stretch but more often than not south will not be able to make four.
Request your wisdom please.
Regards

Hi AVRR,

As always, your bridge wisdom is totally respected, but more often than many realize, in order to set the stage for necessary learning, we need, as writers, to hedge some with playing hands in the bidding, as well as bidding hands, when play is featured.

Sure, and certainly represented here, 4 hearts is a very reasonable final contract, but how to get there, at least IMO, is somewhat just too imaginative to even consider, and (on this combination of 52 cards) we saw to it, being impossible to be made. Perhaps South was just a bit too strong for a 15-17 1NT opening, but that became a topic not to be discussed, certainly driven by our maximum space for too many words.

However, thanks always for your very wise and often directly on point to help others, in their continued attempts at improving their bridge games.
You always win your right to comment, by your excellent and high level analysis.
and especially your top drawer accurate descriptions.
