Hi Dear Mr Wolff
But perhaps declarer had many ways to bring home the contract. Simplest would be to cross over to spade A at T3, take marked trump finesse, cash high trump and handover east his trump trick. With diamond entry intact, south has ten tricks ( three spades, five hearts, and two minor aces. And south can even lead back a club at T3. Even if west shifts to diamond J, south ducks it, wins diamond continuation, takes trump finesse, ruffs diamond for making ten tricks. The hurry in cashing spade winners is not understandable. As the play went, of course, west had his chance to shine by unblocking diamond J which he missed

Hi AVRR,

And so goes hands of this type, requiring “deep” thinking early (when West first went trump less) and as you so keenly pointed out, still not a problem, but when West, having been fo dealt the doubleton diamond jack, didn’t respond to his playing responsibility.

Thanks to you, nothing more needs to be said, except just another hand which tends to separate winners from losers and verse visa as against a majority of others to which newbies and never will be “stars” often fare as well as can be. The other good news (likely thought by most) is that whichever group one happens to fall, can still enjoy playing it.
while offering a safe harbor for enjoyment, to whichever group participating, keeping in mind that the less they know about their status, the better off they become.

Hi Everyone,

And now viewing my above writing, perhaps I should think the same thing about my contributions.
