Hi Dear Mr Wolff
The declarer play to go up with heart K on lead is quite instructive. But perhaps south can bring home the contract even if he plays a high spade if east returns spade hoping for spade A with east but when west wins and returns a heart, it is a cinch that east has diamond K . South wins heart K and runs black suit winners to strip squeeze east or am I missing something?
Regards
PS: thanks to lain for the wonderful efforts to see that the column appears in time

Hi AVRR,

Thanks for the kind comments but it was only a quick E-Mail to Sally Sparrow required. She is VERY good at sorting things out quickly and the unsung heroine behind this column – although don’t forget Judy Kay-Wolff’s influence and help.

I like your strip-squeeze line too.

Regards,

Iain

Hi Everyone,

All the above contributors need to be congratulated and AVRR, Iain and Judy Kay Wolff, are three major ones to which I, and the many others who keep us alive, well and allow the readers inside information on how to both enjoy and improve while navigating the ins and outs of our superlative game.

Like many other, behind the scenes, mini-genius’, no worthwhile enterprise can even exist without their enterprise and hard work. It is always a wonderful process, like soldier’s during warfare, fighting for a just cause, keeping going through the hard work necessary, supplied
by all those, who exist without fanfare, but, in truth, should really get daily thank you’s from all of us who are blessed with seemingly major contributions, though not often mentioned.
