Hello Bobby Sir

This deal is really tricky and declarer if he puts up Q on first trick will succeed only in the expert field. The club where I play most will win Spade Ace and would return a spade. I think this problem can be averted if North bids 1 NT over 1 club opening from South. Which is par in Precision also as south will then open 1 Club and North will respond 1 NT.

Hi Bobby,

An excellent ruse today although its effectiveness may rest on whether East assumes West will still lead a singleton spade in this situation. The ramifications of whether to trust partner or not here are interesting. Of course 3N by North avoids this problem but how t get there? Maybe South should double 2S instead?

On BWTA do you play Lebensohl here so 2S (X) P 2N asks for 3C and shows a weak hand (either passing or bidding 3 of a red suit) while 3C / 3D / 3H show some values?

Regards,

Iain
