Rogue’s query is very a good hand for a precision 2C, although it is at the top end. , In 4th position what should 3C (or 3 of anything or a “weak” 2) show here? I’ve rarely discussed thism, even with regular partners.

Hi Iain,
My choice for openers is the 1NT you suggest, since at least to me, that comes closest to winding up in the game contract most likely attempted
to wind up, 3NT. And, yes, both the distribution, the mix of the high cards, and the overall strength of the hand seems directly proportionate to what is normally immediately accepted.
