The BWTA made me smile as it reminded me of a long-ago on-line hand where my partner opened a 15-17 1NT while I was still counting up my balanced hand with 20 points. Knowing my partner could be a bit timid, I simply bid 7NT rather than trying to go slow. She was a bit shocked, but gave me the standard ‘glp’ (good luck, partner). She was not at all amused when I replied, ‘your hand, partner :P’. Then dummy came down and I was forgiven.
