Hi Bobby,
A query from Thursday night for you. After 2 passes at Love All and pairs you hold KJxxx A AJ10xxxx None. You’re in an occasional partnership playing Precision club – do you prefer 1D, 1S or 1C?
Regards,
Iain
I am not Our Host, but the version of Precision I played explicitly said the HCP could be lower for 2-suiters.
For example, I once opened 1C with just 12 HCPs:
AKQxxx – – QJ98xxx
Hi Jim2,
Certainly would have worked! I tried 1D and got 1S from partner (!) then 2H form RHO. I bid 3H, pard bid 3N and I tried 5S as a general try. Partner (who had already passed) didn’t readme for that much and passed holding A10xxx Qxx Kx Jxx and 13 tricks promptly rolled in. I think 1C is maybe best. 1S shows 5 but suppressing a 7 card suit seems unwise to me.
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain,
Methinks that any opening but 1 measly, though natural, 1 club, is 100% called for, with the opportunity for a sensational result, far outweighing all other openings, by light years.
Even my insides rise up for an above average result, far ahead, of it, coming to pass.
