This hand represents a family of hands requiring a more comprehensive knowledge of numbers and sometimes (possibly more often than expected, but still a relatively small percentage of the time) a unique talent. Nothing at all superhuman, but still a mind set
rich in specific thought. no doubt more easily available to people whose minds contain
number speak, rather than whatever percentage of bridge players who tend to take these things for granite, instead of deep down, understanding exactly what will occur in the play.
Methnks it is, no doubt, a negative connotation, but in reality, unless much effort is given
to allay those fears (think about it, then continue that thought, in order to be able to
reconstruct what eventually occurs, being in the wrong hand at the improper time (with this hand a 4-1 defensive trump holding) which becomes necessary defensively.
In time, it will sink in, but not before one’s bridge knowledge will begin to take forward leaps.
From there, an optimistic personality may say to him or herself, I can become better, if, of course, I’m willing to pay the price of difficult and sometimes awkward consideration..
