Many partnerships play that leading the Q demands the J precisely to avoid the declarer trick in the column hand.

Hi Bobby,

A point today is that the lack of intermediates means the game is really struggling even with 25 points and a 5 card suit. Add the D10 to North’s hand or the H10 to South’s and things look rather better. As it is, anything except a heart at T2 scuppers the game. Reverse attitude certainly works today though.

Iain

Hi Bobby,Playing reverse attitude on Ace n Q leads works better. Here the Q asks for Ace or Jack..and East with 74,plays the 7. With J7…dont ask me any more I feel a headache coming on…perhaps J as Jim mentioned earlier..:) but costly if West leads from KQxx or KQTx..Help please…

Hi Patrick,

I used to play K from KQ9x asked for the 10 if held except J if J & 10 held but the Q would be either top of sequence or KQ108 / KQ109 or similar. With KQxx most of us are leading a small one against 3N.

Iain
