Hi Bobby,
I suppose South’s play might be OK if West pulled the RR coup my pulling the DQ out in rythmn (it won’t work if you tried to grab it). This MUST be a singleton so West figures to have at least 2 trumps and playing the HA is sensible guarding against East having K or Q alone. Why do I feel that such a disaster could descend on our favourite correspondent, although I did once fall foul of a 12-0 club break in a grand slam (goulashed hand tbf). Dummy’s singleton Ace threw my only loser (I had to cash it before drawing all the trumps) and my claim was rudely invalidated!

Hi Iain,
After your occasion of your claim being overruled, methinks any future allowance of that West in your game would require him to be thoroughly searched for specific missing cards in the deck, sometime before the play began.
