Hi Barry
Welcome
Accidents do happen on the road : sometimes due to pot holes and sometimes due to overlooked bumps. But should that deter us from driving? Perhaps not

Welcome!

This hand looks like you, too, have suffered from TOCM ™ — the Theory of Card Migration!

That is, the cards in the closed hands behave like Schrodinger’s Cats, not resolving into their places until AFTER you make your play, and into the most unfavorable locations!

Hi Barry,

Thanks for taking over and a bit unlucky but should East play the H8 rather than the 10 at T1? Mind you that could be 98 alone or 98x so you’ve still got a problem. I suppose South could have 7 spades barring the Ace / King and the CA alone when the DK might have to be played quickly to stop declarer unravelling. Just goes to show that there are no perfect methods.

Regards,

Iain

PS Steve Green has “trained on” pretty well – we used to play together in the late 70s at University but I had 25 years away from the game (1986-2011) for various reasons.
