The slow play problem is a nightmare except at the highest level where pairs are monitored. The equivalent of a chess clock might be possible but my own solution is to play quickly, be prepared to claim or concede in obvious cases and to discourage chit-chat if we’re behind. If TDing a club session with (say) 3 board rounds, I tend to say “You should all be on your 3rd board” after 2/3 of rhe allotted time for (say) every other round. No easy solutions though.
Hi Barry, Folks,
The slow play problem is a nightmare except at the highest level where pairs are monitored.
