Hi Dear Mr Wolff
Perhaps South had even another psychological ploy available. Cash second top diamond, lead spade to dummy’s A, discard heart ten on diamond Q, come to hand with K of spade and lead heart J. Most probably, almost all west players would rise with A . Your opinion please

Hi AVRR,

Yes, thank you, I totally agree with your line of play as superior than suggested in today’s column.

Also, as an added admission, and with today’s BWTA another reason, perhaps the more important, not to overcall is the live possibility partner may lead a diamond, which if holding only the unsupported king, could be a game deliverer on defense, or even the ace, particularly from Axx, which well could cost the contract making trick, whether the contract was at game, or even just a part score.

Your line of play, although thoroughly contrived, will likely be most effective, which, after all, should be always present in a clever game player’s quiver. whether it be archery or bridge as the target game.

One more strike and I’d be out.
