The play of a heart to the Q will probably work even if the H9 seems a bit odd (could be K109 or K1098 to be fair) but, if East held the HA, should he smell a rat if declarer leads a small H away from Qx on table? Unfortunately South has to draw trumps or he will walk into a D ruff. Ironically, despite the weakness in H and 4-4 S fit, 3N is cold.

Iain

Hi Barry
All declarer needed was west to have J of diamonds which he has.
So, after winning the lead in dummy, why not just draw trumps ending in hand and lead diamond to nine . There’s nothing defense can do. The heart pitch on club winners is a mirage
An initial diamond lead would always defeat the contract but perhaps is far fetched as there is no indication from the bidding that east holds short diamonds
