Perhaps this sheds some light on why I lost so many finals to him over the years!
It should come as no surprise that so few of those with a predisposition to cheat care much about the majesty of our sensational pass-time – this is an era where “caring only about yourself”, from Bill Cosby on down, is the societal norm.
Bridge may be stronger than all that pulls it down. We can hope.

On a technical note, there is great insight present when Wolfie writes (paraphrasing) “What matters more at top-level team bridge is how bad the bad players are, not how good the good players are.”
