Hi Bobby,
Imagine the trumps are 3-2 with honours split but West leads the DJ (single dummy) trying to look like a man with a singleton diamond. Should declarer play the same way (when he is going off due to a ruff) or play for the opening leader having (say) HQxxx and hoping the HK drops from east. Much may depend on West’s known (or presumed) guile of course. It would be a devilish ploy if West had HKQx though and West had DJx(x).
