To me, this area in bridge is indeed similar to a great composer in music who specializes in both the melody and maybe even help write the lyrics necessary to produce an “off the charts” song, to be forever remembered.
“Nothing more, nothing less” could be the applicable quote, likely not necessary to say, but nevertheless a vital component to understand.

No doubt true, but eliminating what needs to be eliminated, may sometimes, by its limits, be a difficult and limitless elimination.
Under ruffing is something the Rueful Rabbit would do on occasion (due to misplaced card, or other unintentional play) but rarely seen in normal competition at least from what I have seen. How often have you or others done this effectively? It would take a confident visualization for sure, and less common than throwing away Aces, I suspect.

If you live long enough and get hooked on bridge (guilty), you will live to see most everything in action and I have. However, if someone would ask me to
recount the errors I have made (over perhaps 75+ years) that number would be enormous.
Many of the plays (and bids) you refer to, come up in unusual ways. Furthermore if reading and writing about is added, the numbers become astronomical.
However, I wouldn’t have wanted to miss a step of the way and heartily
recommend it to anyone who desires, with the only condition necessary is to love almost every minute.
