Hi Bobby,

Weak players often trump things here, there and everywhere although they often forget to cash the side suit winners first (a basic rule). As I’ve got older (not necessarily better) I find that I rarely consider such options, along with having a growing tendency not to lead trumps. This hand is a useful reminder not to overlook the cross-ruff option.

Regards,

Iain

Hi Iain,

Thanks for, as you’ve come to be known, telling it like it is. You, being candid, relate to today’s quote (by Johm Keynes) regarding being conservative, except for the crucial necessity of cashing your sure winners first, before the opponents have a chance to discard.

All of us should appreciate your reminder, often lost in the shuffle, when the challenging thought of trumping everything worth trumping consumes us, but, like sometimes forgetting to zip a zipper, not doing so, comes forward to embarrass us.

Hi Dear Mr Wolff
Regarding the quote : perhaps a little apprehension about future would make one certainly ultraconservative
