Hi Bobby,
What happened at T1? AS you say, West could switch to a club but what if East decided to overtake the first heart in case West had HQ alone and had found a sporting pushy raise? Unlikely perhaps but we’ve all met players who will almost always push on to 4S in such cases so raising with a singleton may not be quite that eccentric.
If East plays the H5 at T1, West has a reasonable chance of getting it right, though.
The column was live at 8.00 am UK time today!
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain,
That singleton being the queen could easily be the difference since EW were vulnerable,
but without which, it probably would result, at long odds, to have occurred.
Glad to hear, and from several bridge column lovers, that the earlier time of action,
involving the column, has been very well received.
