Hi Dear Mr Wolff
Truly a wonderful hand . Executing such a trump squeeze ( which west inflicts on east with his forced spade return) one can derive so much satisfaction that he can go even without food for the day. But perhaps a diamond shift at T2 would have thrown south out of gear. On a spade continuation, declarer can still prevail by ruffing with seven, removing trump, cash diamond A , club K and throw west in with spade for play described as in column.
Wonderful hand with east holding singleton in both majors and west holding singleton in both minors
Regards
I hastily wrote that a diamond shift can throw south out of gear. No, dummy flies A and the play transposes to column line. Verily a delightful hand in which there is no defense whichever card west leads as the cards lay
Regards
Hi AVRR,
You are and have always been, a great credit to our other elite double dummy analysts.
Such a position should not, nor ever, be given to a mysterious someone who is prone
to over speak his talent. You could live three lives and never be victim of such a personality, since you have what appears to be, a burning desire to appreciate high-level
talent, when you see and feel it.
So many of our visitors need to be impressed with others who, when speaking,
or always in this case, writing, will downgrade tuning in, if and when, fantasy replaces
accuracy, in the description. My memory tells me that you have never had that happen, with, of course, as you and all bridge icons are thinking while they are writing, but allowing an immediate change of mind, if and when, an inaccuracy creeps in.
Thanks for always being who you are, since I can speak for all other often expert commentators, you are among our best, making you, if I do say so myself, right
up there with the best and thus, IMO, at the top of the heap.
