In BWTA, if I bid 3N, I would always lose the first 7 tricks.

Always.

Hi Jim2,

Obviously you overlooked the rules of the game, that requires three passes to end the auction. In truth you would have immediately, after East doubled, jumped to 5 clubs, gotten doubled, partner would have redoubled and your partnership would have lived happily ever after.

In addition, this hand would have effectively ended your notorious “unlucky streak” allowing the future of your bridge career to soar to heights not often seen, creating a profitable habit
the rest of your heretofore existence, a riddance so welcome, it would bring tears to the eyes of all of your heretofore partners, causing them to jump for joy with delight.

However, East, whoever he happened to be, was the unlucky player who never again played a hand of bridge.

Yes, a chance for a momentous happening in your world. Please say it ain’t so, Jim, BTW also giving up a chance to move your name up to Jim1.
