Hi Dear Mr Wolff
Very apt quote matching imaginative play by declarer. The initial lead of a heart looks a bit odd but even on the sensible lead of diamond nine, the same play works provided declarer finds it as west conveniently for declarer , holds four cards in each minor. Between club and diamonds, diamond lead clearly would be a preferred one and on a low club lead perhaps even Mrs. Guggenheim would bring home the contract

Hi Bobby,

Shouldn’t East just play the SK from that holding when a small one is led from table? Then West knows to overtake and declarer is straight off.

Good effort by South in the end although he does look a touch silly if the clubs come down.

Regards,

Iain
