Hi Everyone,

An interesting (at least I think so) feature not discussed is for East, at trick two when he won the diamond ace, to instigate a heart attack and of course, an initial duck of the trump ace. not mentioned because of the complexity, which, in turn would send us over the word limits, to which we are restricted.

By doing so, we could then call that, at the very least, to have established an unlikely positive “heart attack”, so that in itself may be just another reason to learn our greatest challenging and indeed charming exercise in arithmetical and psychological competition.

“Yes, Virginia” West needs to duck this trump ace, at least as frequent as he has ever done
before.

Hi Bobby,

Yet another of those horrible hands where there are only 2 obvious losers but a safe route to 10 tricks (assuming trumps are 3-2 which I think you have to) is far from simple. Sometimes I hate having options.

Regards,

Iain

PS I spotted the intentional typo in the first sentence of the last paragraph – proving I’m still awake for a change!

Hi Iain,

I’m now celebrating the first time I have ever beaten you to the computer (by exactly 10 minutes) with you likely stopping somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean for a drink.

However, it was well worth the long wait and I needed to get up very early, where I live, to do it.
