Hi Bobby,
If East doubles 4C though, then what? A club at T1 certainly takes out the entry very quickly so now South has to cash HAKQ and then try to ruff clubs. This should be possible without the trump lead, though, even with trumps 3-1 although West might be placed to overruff a spade if declarer isn’t reasonably careful.
Given that East has the SA as well, though, I’m a bit surprised he/she didn’t try that. it might also put South of bidding the slam.
Regards,
Iain
Hi Iain,
With you nearby and breathing we could spend more time better explaining, at least what we think, are our major suggestions, while you, from sadly afar, handle the so-called other possibilities.
Now, in addition, you have proven yourself many times not only capable of those duties, but by example, ready to willingly take them all on. However caution, since the pay may be less than you think, since yes, we know you are a very solid help, but, in truth, we might only be able to offer an overrated thanks, for all your knowledgeable suggestions.
Yeah, I know how some foreigners view some Americans, as lifelong cheapskates. Pity! And BTW, once, in a great surprise, you might, in some fine way be docked, although it can’t be money, for having exceeded our word limit.
I also know that some days, attractive women just do not cotton to solving bridge puzzles,
so also, fie on them! However, a giant thank you, for everything you always accomplish.
