Hi Bobby,
I am sure South had a reason for discarding as he did so this is not a criticism but just a information request, Given that the opponent’s methods make the diamond position reasonably clear right from the start and West only let go a single diamond on the club run, what did South hope to gain by keeping both diamonds on the board?
Cheers,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Your question lionizes the apt quote concerning overall difficulties with both seasons and declaring (or often defending) bridge hands.
No doubt this inclusive hand puts difficult pause while describing, and to this moment, none
of us are sure we covered all avenues, but taking advantage of the other hand, still maintain
we probably have. At least it seems so, but if not, after another gander, please confirm or deny.
And, BTW I, for at least one, appreciate your attention to detail and will cry out how necessary that quality becomes, when attempting to continue improving one’s analysis.
