Hi Bobby,

BWTA is a maddening case where the old fashioned approach (e.g. hitting 3 of a major for penalties, 3 of a minor for TO) could pay off. I accept that TO doubles of 3m/3M are generally a better option but the frustration in cases like this is considerable!

HI Patrick,

Yes, good point – a 1-1 break with declarer and dummy having 0 trumps means someone has eaten a spade (one of Mollo’s stories) or it is on the floor. There is also a story about a Mr. Kremelkopf in the Bridge Player’s bedside companion involving a missing card…
