On BWTA, (cough) Flannery. (Cough-cough)
Hi Jim2,
Yes, and, of course, bid and make 7 clubs by the percentage play, finessing clubs, but then, playing for the drop, in whatever suit the other minor could be. Since the odds against both suits breaking are probably less than 50%, it seems right to not finesse the diamond
At least most of the bridge players at the asylum would agree, especially if they want to be recognized.
Cough, cough, cough and still another.
Hi Jim2,
And what’s more, and while defending a diamond grand slam, what would be the opening lead but a low trump, allowing even Mrs. Guggenheim to decide if that lead is more likely to be from 4 small or from Kx into the diamond bidder.
However, true, that thought would never likely to even brouse against her bridge brain, but up with the ace will say she, since going set is one horrible thing, and putting it off, even for only one trick, indeed, saves some face.
