Happy New Year! And bravo on using the subjunctive “were” twice in the “Bid with the Aces” part of the column. I always loved the subjunctive case; I thought it had been lost to eternity. 😉

No doubt this pandemic has effectively changed the world and not for the better.
However, look at the other side of the coin, when this one ends and the next one, in thirty or forty years, raises its ugly head, you and I will be experienced enough to know exactly what to do.
And BTW a very happy NEW YEAR back at you for everyone, especially your family.
