HI Bobby,

On Under Control’s problem, with a scratch partner or any case where you have little system agreement, how bad a shot is bashing 6C being prepared to apologise if LHO starts with DAK? Certainly avoids telling the pppo what to lead.

Regards,

Iain

Hi Iain,

I would award a slam leap in clubs as a 49% to 51% action, my way of shrugging my shoulders. Trying to pinpoint the final resting spot will most likely allow the opponents a much better shot as to what to lead. which, at least to me, an always possible “lucky make” (by the wrong lead chosen), but, in fact, should never be called even fortunate to
score it up, since no one can deny that wrong choice is part of the legitimate game we love to play.

However, to say any more about that no doubt gambling action is not icing on the cake, but rather similar to inviting friends to a “home dinner” and not knowing anything about their eating habits.

Chef Wolff has spoken, but whomever is invited will certainly hope that I have nothing to do with the choices, nor the actual cooking.
