On 5he last question, LHO probably won’t have many spades (Ax or A alone seem likely) unless they’re prepared to have a red suit wide open. So 4S is safer than it might look at first, I suspect.
How are things btw? Last saw you in 1983!

While I definitely agree to chance it, whether it works or not, since the bidding, at least to partner, has virtually forced some blind flying by our side. We all like to feel justified, making our aggressive suggestion palpable, at least it says here.
BTW, Since you saw Barry last, he has grown an inch or two. since that was approximately
42 years ago and yes, he was quite a healthy looking child, at least I so heard and once one gives away his age, his allure sometimes fades. As we speak, I’m definitely going through that ugly phase now, and have been, for the last twenty or so, years.
