Hi Everyone,

The suggestion in that last line that West may have led an unsupported K against 6NT made my head hurt. I’d be a tad suspicious if East turned up with the Q. Even moving the six to the West hand in exchange for a small diamond so that West has the Q6H and KD at the end doesn’t really work. What reason would East have for not giving a true count at trick 1? With most of the firepower most likely sitting with South, count could actually matter to his partner who must have something after all if N-S stopped at 6NT.

Maybe if you moved the KD to the East hand instead of a small diamond? In that case, with the KD sitting wrong, East might judge that the only hope was to deceive South as to just how many hearts his partner held. In which case, as Bobby always says, it might be time to find an easier game!

Cheers,

Jeff
