On BWTA, if only North had an opening bid to show 4-5 in the majors, then the bidding would be so much easier.

I thought that comment might be you before I read it. I don’t think Barry takes the bait – though! Out of interest, is there usually an upper strength limit on the bid – presumably 15 or so if you reverse with 16.

I thought the comment was down to Oscar Wilde. Still both he and GBS might have made it given their sharp wits and both being Irish & cynical.

Yes, sadly, Our [New] Host cares not for “us.” But I continue to lash the long-read equine anyway more out of habit than anything else.
Anyway, IIRC that limit nominally is ~15. Thus, I suspect any such spades rebid by North in a Flannery partnership should likely show greater HCPs.
