Sadly, at our table in the Slush Cup, North frowned at the interference bidding, cast eyes to the heavens (or at least to the ceiling tiles), and bid 7D.

Hi jim2,

I wondered about that. I assume West doubled and East duly led a spade to defeat the contract when nothing else would do the job. Such a shame!

Cheers,

HI guys,

Depends where Jim 2 was sitting. If East, and getting ready to lead a spade, his partner probably led out of turn and the lead was promptly accepted by North. If West, pard didn’t lead a spade while, if South, no prizes for what happened next… I assume not North but, if he was, he’s have got the S lead vs 7D

Regards,

Iain

Iain has the right of it, sadly.
