I am a little confused here. If West splits his honors and you duck, you can get three club tricks, but only if you play the KC before finessing the nine. You need to drop the 10C still sitting in the East hand. If West instead plays the eight covered by the nine and ten, he still has QJx and can split his honors if another low club is led. So, how does South take three club tricks if West starts with the eight?
Cheers – and Happy Canada Day to those of us in Canada (me!) and everyone else,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Happy Canada day form the UK. The C10 went at T1 after the small C lead so now declarer has the position he needs if he plays West for QJ8x.
Regards,
Iain

Thanks, Iain, I completely forgot West kicked things off with a club.
